Cookie policy

The cookies and browser storage IT Edits uses, what each is for, and how to control them.

This page lists the cookies and similar storage this site uses. It is a companion to the privacy policy.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to keep and send back on later visits. Local storage is a related mechanism that keeps data in your browser without sending it anywhere. Both let a site remember something between page loads; the important difference is that local storage is not transmitted to the server.

What this site uses

Saved builds (local storage). The PC Builder keeps your component selections in your browser so your work survives closing the tab. This never leaves your device and is not sent to us. Clearing site data in your browser removes it.

WordPress session cookies. Set only if you log in to the site administration, which applies to people who run the site rather than to readers.

No tracking cookies. We set no cookies to follow you between sites or to build a profile of you.

Third-party cookies

At the time of writing, no third-party service sets cookies through this site. If analytics or advertising are added, the services involved will be listed here with a description of what they set, and where consent is legally required it will be requested before they load.

Managing storage

Every major browser lets you view and delete cookies and site data, usually under privacy or site settings. You can block or remove anything this site stores.

The only practical consequence here is that clearing site data will discard a build saved in the builder. Nothing else about the site depends on stored data, and it will work normally with all of it blocked.

Before publishing: If analytics, advertising or a consent management platform have been added, list each service here with what it stores and how long for, and confirm the consent flow matches what this page describes.
